What a pickup truck moving service actually costs
August 4, 20265 min read
Hourly movers make small jobs expensive and unpredictable. Trip-based pricing is easier to check before you commit.
Trip pricing versus hourly pricing
Traditional movers bill by the hour with a two- or three-hour minimum, so a fifteen-minute sofa run costs the same as a half-day job. Trip pricing charges for the route: a base fare plus a per-mile rate between your two addresses.
What adds to the fare
Only two things move the number meaningfully. Large two-person items — sofas, refrigerators, washers, dryers, wardrobes — add a flat handling fee. Helper service adds a fixed amount when you want the driver to bring a second set of hands.
- Boxes, bags, bins and small furniture do not raise the price.
- Larger truck tiers cost more per mile because the vehicle is bigger.
- The total you see before booking is the total you're charged.
Where the money goes
The driver who does the work keeps the majority of every fare. Truck-N-Go takes a platform commission on the trip, which covers payments, dispatch, support and the app itself. Payouts go straight to the driver's connected account.
