How much does it cost to move a mattress?
Short answer: $45–$92 for most local trips with the pickup truck and driver included. A mattress counts as a regular item on Truck-N-Go, so it carries no heavy-item surcharge — you pay the truck base fare plus mapped miles. Most local mattress moves land in the range below.
The formula
- Truck base fare — $39 for a Standard Pickup, $69 for a Heavy Hauler on bigger loads.
- Distance — $2.10 per mile on a Standard Pickup, $2.90 on a Heavy Hauler, based on the mapped driving route.
- Heavy item surcharge — a flat $29 per heavy item. Mattress does not count, so it adds $0.
- Optional helper — $28 for a second pair of hands on stairs or tight doorways.

Before you book
No surcharge on the mattress itself
Mattresses are bulky but light, so they are not on the heavy-item list. Only items like couches, dressers, washers, refrigerators and gym gear add the flat $29.
Bag it before pickup
A mattress bag or old sheet keeps road grit and rain off the fabric on an open pickup bed. Drivers strap and blanket the load, but the cover is on you.
Add a helper for stairs
A king or a walk-up apartment is easier with two people — a second pair of hands is $28.

Do I need a second helper?
Usually not on ground level. Add a helper for $28 for stairs, tight doorways or a king-size load.
