Privacy Policy

Last updated 4 August 2026

This policy is maintained by Truck-N-Go and explains what data we collect when you use the Truck-N-Go apps and website to request a truck and driver (“riders”) or to accept and complete hauls (“drivers”), why we collect it, how long we keep it, and who we share it with.

1. Data we collect

Data you give us

  • Account data — name, email address, phone number, password or social sign-in identifier (Google, Apple), and profile photo.
  • Haul data — pickup and drop-off addresses, scheduled times, truck tier, whether you requested loading helpers, item notes, and in-app messages and photos attached to a haul.
  • Payment data — billing details, and the card brand and last four digits shown to you. Full card numbers are entered directly into our payment processor’s hosted checkout and are never stored on Truck-N-Go’s systems.
  • Driver onboarding documents — legal name, driver’s licence number and expiry plus a licence image, vehicle make, model, year, plate and photo, insurance provider, policy number and expiry plus a policy document, and the payout/tax identity details you provide to our payments partner for identity verification.
  • Support and dispute data — messages, refund and damage claims, and ratings or written reviews you submit.

Data created when you use the app

  • Location data — precise device location for riders while requesting a haul, and for drivers while they are online or on an active haul, so we can match nearby trucks, navigate, calculate distance-based fares and show live tracking. Drivers may also set a base location and service radius. We stop collecting precise location once the app is closed and the driver goes offline.
  • Trip and transaction data — route distance and duration, timestamps for booking, payment, acceptance, start and completion, fare, discounts, prepaid credit applied, commission, driver payout, cancellation fees and refunds.
  • Device and usage data — device type, OS and app version, IP address, crash and diagnostic logs, push notification tokens, and product analytics events describing how screens and features are used.

2. Why we use it

  • To create your account, authenticate you and keep it secure.
  • To provide the core service: pricing hauls, dispatching nearby drivers, navigation, live tracking, in-app messaging, receipts and support.
  • To take payment, apply memberships, discounts and prepaid credits, pay drivers their share, and process refunds and cancellation fees.
  • To vet and approve drivers, confirm licence and insurance validity, and meet identity and anti-fraud obligations before a driver can accept hauls or receive payouts.
  • For safety, trust and fraud prevention — investigating damage claims, disputed charges, abusive behaviour and suspicious account activity.
  • To send service notifications (haul accepted, driver en route, payment, refund) and, where permitted, product and promotional messages you can opt out of.
  • To analyse and improve the marketplace, and to comply with tax, accounting, insurance and legal requirements.

3. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as follows:

  • Between riders and drivers — a rider sees the assigned driver’s first name, photo, rating, truck description and live location; the driver sees the rider’s first name, pickup and drop-off addresses and haul notes. Neither party sees the other’s email, full payment details or home address history.
  • Payment processor — Stripe processes card payments and driver payouts and performs driver identity verification (KYC) as an independent controller under its own privacy policy. Driver bank and tax details are held by Stripe, not by us.
  • Service providers — cloud hosting and database, Google Maps Platform (geocoding, routing and maps), push notification delivery (Apple, Google and web push), transactional email delivery, and product analytics and error monitoring. Each is contractually limited to processing data on our behalf.
  • Insurers and claim investigators — where needed to assess a damage, injury or liability claim arising from a haul.
  • Law enforcement and regulators — where we have a good-faith belief that disclosure is legally required, or is necessary to protect someone’s safety or defend our legal rights.
  • Corporate transactions — a buyer or successor in a merger, acquisition or asset sale, subject to this policy.

4. Driver documents — special handling

Licence images, insurance documents and vehicle photos are stored in a private, non-public storage bucket. They are readable only by the driver who uploaded them and by authorised Truck-N-Go review staff; they are never shown to riders and are never used for marketing. We retain them for the life of the driver account plus 7 years after deactivation, because licence, insurance and vetting records must be produced for insurance, tax and regulatory audits. Rejected applications are kept for 24 months to document the decision and detect re-application fraud.

5. How long we keep data

  • Account and profile — while your account is active; deleted or anonymised within 30 days of a verified deletion request, except where a longer period below applies.
  • Haul, fare and payout records — 7 years, for tax, accounting and dispute purposes.
  • Payment records — transaction records for 7 years; card details are held by our processor under its own retention rules, and we never hold full card numbers.
  • Driver vetting documents — account lifetime plus 7 years (rejected applications: 24 months).
  • Precise location traces — 12 months, then deleted or aggregated; haul start and end addresses stay with the trip record.
  • In-app messages and haul photos — 24 months, or longer if attached to an open claim.
  • Device, diagnostic and analytics data — up to 14 months.
  • Safety and fraud records — as long as needed to prevent a banned user returning to the platform.

6. Your choices and rights

  • Access, correct or download a copy of your data.
  • Request deletion of your account and data, subject to the retention periods above.
  • Turn off location permissions, push notifications or marketing emails at any time — note that hauls cannot be dispatched without location access.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent where consent is our basis.
  • Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to opt out of targeted advertising or “sharing” of personal information — we do not engage in either.

Email privacy@truck-n-go.com to exercise a right. We verify identity before acting and respond within 30 days.

7. Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by our hosting and storage providers, access to production data is limited to authorised staff, driver documents sit in private storage with row-level access rules, and payment card data is handled exclusively by our PCI-DSS compliant processor. No system is perfectly secure, so please report suspected vulnerabilities or account compromise to security@truck-n-go.com.

8. Children, transfers and changes

Truck-N-Go is not for anyone under 18. Data may be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate, using appropriate safeguards for international transfers. If we make material changes to this policy we will update the date above and notify you in the app or by email before the change takes effect.
