Upfront pricing
How much does it cost to move a washer and dryer?
Short answer: $74–$121 for most local trips with the pickup truck and driver included. Laundry appliances are heavy items, so each unit adds the flat surcharge. A single washer costs less than a matched pair — both are priced below on the same mapped-mile formula.
The formula
- Truck base fare — $39 for a Standard Pickup, $69 for a Heavy Hauler on bigger loads.
- Distance — $2.10 per mile on a Standard Pickup, $2.90 on a Heavy Hauler, based on the mapped driving route.
- Heavy item surcharge — a flat $29 per heavy item. One unit counts as one.
- Optional helper — $28 for a second pair of hands on stairs or tight doorways.
Worked examples
| Distance | One unit | + helper | Washer + dryer |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 mi | $74 | $102 | $131 |
| 5 mi | $79 | $107 | $136 |
| 10 mi | $89 | $117 | $146 |
| 15 mi | $100 | $128 | $157 |
| 25 mi | $121 | $149 | $178 |
The pair column charges the $29 surcharge twice — once per appliance — plus a helper, since a stacked set is not a one-person job. Your quote is calculated on your real route, and first-time riders get 20% off their first haul.
Before you book
Each appliance is its own heavy item
The surcharge is per unit, so a washer alone adds $29 and a washer-and-dryer set adds $58. The truck fare and miles are shared.
Disconnect before the driver arrives
Shut off the water, drain the hoses and unplug the units. Drivers haul and place appliances; they do not do plumbing or electrical hook-ups.
Measure the doorway
Front-loaders are wide. A quick measurement of the laundry door and any turn at the top of the stairs saves a failed carry on arrival.
Cost to move a washer and dryer FAQ
How much does it cost to move a washer and dryer?
With Truck-N-Go it is about $74 for a short 3-mile trip and around $100 across 15 miles on a Standard Pickup. That covers the truck, the driver loading and unloading, and the flat $29 heavy-item surcharge.
How is the fare calculated?
A $39 base fare for a Standard Pickup, $2.10 per mapped mile, a flat $29 heavy-item surcharge, and $28 if you add a second helper. You see the total before you pay.
Do I need a second helper?
Yes for most jobs — appliances and large furniture are two-person lifts on stairs or over a threshold. A helper is $28.
Is it cheaper than renting a truck?
A rental adds a day rate, mileage, fuel, insurance and the problem of finding people to lift. Here one upfront fare covers the truck, the driving and the labor.
Can I book it for later today or a set date?
Yes. You can request a driver now or schedule the pickup for a specific time, and the fare is quoted on your real route either way.
Is there a discount on my first booking?
First-time riders get 20% off their first haul, applied automatically at checkout.
