How much does it cost to move a couch?
Short answer: $74–$121 for most local sofa moves with a pickup truck and driver included. Below is the exact formula we use, so you can work out your own number before you book.
The formula
- Truck base fare — $39 for a Standard Pickup (couch, mattress, appliance), $69 for a Heavy Hauler (sectional, full room).
- Distance — $2.10 per mile on a Standard Pickup, $2.90 on a Heavy Hauler, based on the mapped driving route.
- Heavy item surcharge — a flat $29 per couch, sectional, appliance or gym item. Boxes and light furniture add $0.
- Optional helper — $28 for a second pair of hands on stairs or tight doorways.

Sectional prices assume a Heavy Hauler with a helper. Your quote is calculated on your real route, and first-time riders get 20% off their first haul.

How much does it cost to move a couch?
With Truck-N-Go a two-to-three seat couch on a Standard Pickup costs $74 for a short 3-mile trip and about $100 across 15 miles. That includes the truck, the driver loading and unloading, and the $29 heavy-item surcharge.
Why is there a heavy-item surcharge?
Couches, sectionals, appliances, gym equipment and debris piles take longer to lift, strap and carry, so each heavy item adds a flat $29. Boxes, chairs, TVs and other regular items add nothing to the fare.
Do I need a second helper for a couch?
One driver can handle most sofas on ground level. Add a helper for $28 if the couch goes up or down stairs, through a tight doorway, or if it's a sectional.
Is it cheaper than renting a truck?
A rental usually means a day rate, mileage, fuel, insurance and finding two people to lift. Here you pay one fare that covers the truck, the driving and the labor, and you see it before you book.
