Upfront pricing
How much does it cost to move a refrigerator?
Short answer: $74–$121 for most local trips with the pickup truck and driver included. A full-size fridge is a two-person lift, so it carries the flat heavy-item surcharge on top of the truck fare and mapped miles. Here is what a local appliance run actually costs.
The formula
- Truck base fare — $39 for a Standard Pickup, $69 for a Heavy Hauler on bigger loads.
- Distance — $2.10 per mile on a Standard Pickup, $2.90 on a Heavy Hauler, based on the mapped driving route.
- Heavy item surcharge — a flat $29 per heavy item. Refrigerator counts as one.
- Optional helper — $28 for a second pair of hands on stairs or tight doorways.

| 5 mi | $79 | $107 | $141 |
| 10 mi | $89 | $117 | $155 |

The last column is a Heavy Hauler with a helper — worth it for a French-door or side-by-side unit, or when the fridge is moving with other furniture. Your quote is calculated on your real route, and first-time riders get 20% off their first haul.
Before you book
Empty and defrost first
Clear the shelves, defrost the freezer and tape the doors shut the night before. A wet or loaded fridge is heavier, slower to load and can leak on the way.
Book the helper
Almost every refrigerator needs two people on stairs or a threshold — add a helper for $28 when you book instead of hoping to hand-carry it yourself.
Let it stand before plugging in
After transport, stand the unit upright for a few hours before powering it on so the compressor oil settles. That is a manufacturer recommendation, not a Truck-N-Go rule.
Cost to move a refrigerator FAQ
How much does it cost to move a refrigerator?
With Truck-N-Go it is about $74 for a short 3-mile trip and around $100 across 15 miles on a Standard Pickup. That covers the truck, the driver loading and unloading, and the flat $29 heavy-item surcharge.
How is the fare calculated?
A $39 base fare for a Standard Pickup, $2.10 per mapped mile, a flat $29 heavy-item surcharge, and $28 if you add a second helper. You see the total before you pay.
Do I need a second helper?
Yes for most jobs — appliances and large furniture are two-person lifts on stairs or over a threshold. A helper is $28.
Is it cheaper than renting a truck?
A rental adds a day rate, mileage, fuel, insurance and the problem of finding people to lift. Here one upfront fare covers the truck, the driving and the labor.
Can I book it for later today or a set date?
Yes. You can request a driver now or schedule the pickup for a specific time, and the fare is quoted on your real route either way.
Is there a discount on my first booking?
First-time riders get 20% off their first haul, applied automatically at checkout.
