Truck & driver for hire

No rental counter, no deposit

Hire a pickup truck with a driver, by the trip

Skip the rental desk, the mileage rules and the fuel stop. Book a local truck owner who brings the vehicle, loads your items, drives the route and unloads at the other end — for a fare you see before you confirm.

What it costs to hire a truck and driver

Pick a tier, and the fare is the base plus your mapped driving miles. Heavy items add $29 each. Ten-mile examples with no helper:

JobTypical fare
Box Run — A few boxes, bikes, small loads, 10 miles$40
Standard Pickup — Couch, mattress, appliance, studio move, 10 miles$60
Heavy Hauler — Full 1-bed move, trailer, dump runs, 10 miles$98

Your real quote is calculated on the mapped driving route between your two addresses.

How it works

  1. 1. Choose your truck tier and addresses

List what's coming along so the driver arrives with the right vehicle and crew.

  2. 2. A nearby truck owner accepts

Jobs go to the closest available drivers first, usually within minutes of payment.

  3. 3. Ride along on the map

Track the truck live, message your driver, and get a receipt when the job completes.

Truck and driver hire FAQ

How is hiring a truck and driver different from renting a truck?

A rental puts you behind the wheel with a deposit, mileage rules, a fuel top-up and the loading on your shoulders. Hiring a truck with a driver means someone else brings the vehicle, loads it, drives the route and unloads — you pay one trip fare.

What trucks can I hire?

Three tiers: Box Run for small loads from $24, Standard Pickup for furniture and appliances from $39, and Heavy Hauler for full one-bedroom moves and bulk loads from $69. Each adds a per-mile rate for the mapped route.

Can I hire a truck and driver by the hour?

Fares are per trip rather than per hour, so waiting around never inflates the price. If you have several stops or loads, book them as back-to-back hauls.

Does the driver help load and unload?

Yes, loading, strapping down and unloading are included. For stairs or anything needing two people, add a helper for $28 at booking.

Can I hire a truck and driver for a business?

Yes. Contractors, shops and workshops hire trucks for supplier runs, jobsite drops and customer deliveries, and can be listed in the partner directory for recurring work.

Do I need insurance or a license?

No. You are hiring a driver with their own truck, so no rental agreement, license check or deposit is required from you.
